Under the Sea Shoes (Process)

Description

In case anyone is wondering, here's how I paint my shoes:
1. The original: My friend doodled all over her bright pink converse.. Here we go.
2. I unlaced them, removed the "Converse" banner on the tongue, and I scrubbed them down to the best of my ability. Then I taped up the sides to prevent paint from getting on them. After that, I slathered it in a thick coat of white paint.
3. Painting the main coat of the shoes, with the respective backgrounds. This is when I sketched out the characters (In this case, an Ariel for each shoe, one Flounder, and one Sebastian)
4. I painted the silhouettes white, just so it gives me a clean slate, and an idea of where the characters are going.
5. Then I painted on the characters. Done! Almost.
6. I peeled off the tape, scrubbed up any leftover paint on the sides, and did a few touch-ups. Then I sprayed it with clear sealer stuff.
NOW we're done. *whew*
This probably isn't the right way, by any means, but this is how I do it.
